As a young man, once I had made my first plunge into ‘Archetypes of the Collective Unconscious’ I had a hard time climbing back out. Alternating back and forth between that and Jung’s own story I found so absorbing that I’ve ever since been hesitant to venture back in. But your very interesting review is a nice reminder that I still might.
Yes--Memorial does have a Zen-esque feel throughout. Given your backstory with Jung, this might be a good match for you. It's memoire-like and is chock full of his observations of...well everything: relationships, patients, geography, philosophers....etc.
